Does my business still need a website in 2019?

Here are SIX reasons to explain why having a website remains important for every business.

Operate 24/7

Your website is marketing for you all day long. If needed, it can take enquiries, handle a quote and make sales even while you sleep.

Information about your business is available to customers and prospects 24/7.

Build trust and credibility

Customers expect to find you online and if they can't then you simply don't exist. At best you and your company look dated, out of touch and untrustworthy.

Be found in a Google search

People are using Google and Bing to find solutions to their problems. Over 80% of shoppers conduct research online before making a purchase. So when someone types or asks for "tiling and waterproofing sydney" you want your business to appear in the search results. This provides a great opportunity to reach more people.

Many of your competitors have a website

And if prospects can't find you online, they will head over to who they can find … your competitors!

They're simple and affordable to set up

Building and maintaining a functional website is simple and affordable. Put another way, your business really can't afford not to have one.

Social media is not enough

Social media is a great channel but it isn't so effective without a website.

Social media is awesome for distributing content from your website but its competing for attention with lots of other posts. It's also estimated that the lifespan of a post on Facebook is between two to five hours only.

Now compare that with a page on your website that isn't competing with other stories or products or brands for attention and never expires from view.


A functional website is a pre-requisite for being in business.

If there is one thought I want to leave you with it is this; you're practically sending business to your competitors by not having a website!
